Plan International UK strives to advance children’s rights and equality for girls all over the world. Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children. We have been building powerful partnerships for children for 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.
The Policy and Programmes Directorate supports our aims by ensuring that we deliver the highest quality policy and programmes. We constantly enhance programme quality and effectiveness, raise income from institutional donors (like the British Government), and drive change through setting and influencing policy agendas.
This is an exciting time to join as we implement a range of ambitious plans designed to make us ‘the’ best among our peers. We’re recruiting for a new role of Senior Programme Development Manager to lead Plan International UK programme development processes for non-emergency institutional donor funding.
You will play a key role in donor liaison and lead on the development of innovative new programmatic models and strengthening proposal development processes and systems. You will also provide effective line management to a team of three, ensuring that the most strategic opportunities are nurtured and pursued.
Some overseas travel is envisaged for donor liaison and programme development (estimated at approximately 25% of working time).
To succeed in the role you will need to have a track record of successful development of high quality proposals and/or tenders for institutional donors, and of leading and coaching teams to expand portfolios and meet growth targets. You will also need to be skilled at partnership building and at developing new programmatic models and will have demonstrable field experience in Africa and/or Asia.
The deadline for applications is 9:00am on Monday 04 September 2017
Interviews will take place in the week commencing 11 September 2017
Due to the nature of our work with children, we follow rigorous child protection policies and procedures in our recruitment process. As a result, some of our roles are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from joining us as an employee or volunteer; this will depend on the circumstances of any offences.
