Organization: Plan International UK
Country: United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
Closing date: 04 Sep 2017

Plan International UK strives to advance children’s rights and equality for girls all over the world. Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children. We have been building powerful partnerships for children for 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.

The Policy and Programmes Directorate supports our aims by ensuring that we deliver the highest quality policy and programmes. We constantly enhance programme quality and effectiveness, raise income from institutional donors (like the British Government), and drive change through setting and influencing policy agendas.

This is an exciting time to join as we implement a range of ambitious plans designed to make us ‘the’ best among our peers. We’re recruiting for a new role of Commercial Tenders Manager to lead on tender processes.

You will be the key focal point for donors and potential partners, through overseeing the preparation of technical tender submissions, leading directly on the writing of commercial tender submissions, and overseeing pre-recruitment for bids via line management of the Bids Resourcing Executive.

Some overseas travel is envisaged for donor liaison and programme development (estimated at approximately 25% of working time).

With a track record of successfully securing commercial contracts of over £5 million, you will also have represented at a senior level with donors such as DFID and the EC, and have experience of leading and coaching staff while providing a high level of technical support to colleagues.

The deadline for applications is 9:00am on Monday 04 September 2017

Interviews will take place in the week commencing 11 September 2017

Due to the nature of our work with children, we follow rigorous child protection policies and procedures in our recruitment process. As a result, some of our roles are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from joining us as an employee or volunteer; this will depend on the circumstances of any offences.
