The post is Policy and Advocacy Adviser within the QAIL Unit. Located in the Programmes Department of Plan International UK, and working with the Policy and Research Manager this position will be implementing effective policy and advocacy strategies for key areas with focus on adolescents and youth, develop and manage effective advocacy and policy relationships with Government, NGOs, networks and partners and lead on developing research reports, policy briefings and analysis
It’s a permanent contract, and it’s a full-time at 34.5 hours a week – we finish at 4.30pm on a Friday. We are based in Old Street, London. (Finsgate, 5-7 Cranwood Street to be precise).
An individual experienced in policy and advocacy within the international development sector. You must have strong knowledge of the discourse around adolescents and young people and excellent knowledge of the UK political system. You will be experienced in developing strategic and influential strategies and providing the organisation with timely policy analysis. Experience in developing and managing multiple relationships with key stakeholders – particularly across the UK government is essential – as is experience of producing research reports and policy briefs.

The usual recruitment rate for this post (Grade 3) is £37,427 with future pay progression within the pay band from £37,427 to £39,346.
Our annual leave entitlement starts at 25 days (plus public holidays) for new starters, increasing up to 30 days through years of service.
