Position Description
Plan UK is seeking a dynamic individual as our Head of Finance who will work closely with the Director of Finance, IT and other directors and staff across the organisation to help Plan UK deliver its vision, while ensuring that the financial affairs of Plan UK are managed professionally. You will be responsible for managing Plan UK’s finances and finance function in a way which supports and advances the organisation’s objectives. You will also be responsible for the Property Facilities team, ensuring effective facilities management of the Plan UK Head Office building. You will act as deputy to the Director of Finance and IT.
The Head of Finance is responsible for a team of 16 with 4 direct reports – Financial Controller, Finance Manager, Grants Finance Manager and Senior Property Facilities Officer.
It’s a permanent contract and it’s a full-time post at 34.5 hours a week.
Required Experience
The successful candidate will hold a CCAB-recognised accounting qualification and have a minimum of 3 years’ experience at a senior finance level managing a finance function in a charity environment.
They will have experience of preparing accounts under the Charities SORP, preparing budgets, forecasts and management accounts, and leading on cross-departmental projects.

Salary and Benefits
As there is a market premium rate for this post (Grade 1) the recruitment rate will be circa £60k.
Our annual leave entitlement starts at 25 days (plus public holidays) for new starters. It goes up to 30 once you’ve been with us for 6 years.
We match contributions up to 7.5% on the pension scheme and will automatically enrol anyone who has not elected to join the scheme in the third pay period of their employment, currently at a rate of 1% contributions for you and for Plan.
