Are you a motivated youth change agent that is passionate about fighting child, early and forced marriage, Female Genital Mutilation and other forms of Gender Based Violence?

If so, keep reading because we need your help in the fight to end such harmful practices.**We are searching for new members to join the #YouthForChange campaign team – a global volunteer initiative comprised of young people advocating for an end to Gender Based Violence, particularly female genital mutilation (FGM) and child, early and forced marriage (CEFM) across four countries (Bangladesh, Ghana, Ethiopia and the UK).**

We believe that young people must be part of the solution to violence against girls and women, not just as the leaders of tomorrow but as the change makers of today. They will continue the fight in the future. Young people are facing the consequences of these practices every day and their voices must be at the heart of the debate on girls ‘well-being.

We are looking for:

SIXenthusiastic Youth Change Agents to join our campaign in Ethiopia. As a #YouthChange Agent you will:

Create and develop a national promoting strategy with the team.

  • Mobilise community networks and other partners to influence national governments and other
    decision-makers on CEFM and FGM.
  • Implement and deliver national youth-led events.
  • Attend national events to represent the voices of young people.
  • Attend inductions, face to face meetings and training sessions.
  • Become part of a global youth movement to raise awareness on and bring about change to harmful practices, such as child, early and forced marriage and FGM.
  • Learn from and communicate with peers in other countries, working on the same issues.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be aged 16-29
  • Already be engaged in work on Girls’ Rights issues
  • Have experience in organizing events
  • Have experience in working on CEFM and FGM or broader Gender Based Violence projects
  • Be passionate about contributing to end CEFM, FGM and Gender Based Violence
  • Have time to work hard as a panel member
  • Have commitment and passion to drive forward a girl's well-being movement in Ethiopia
  • Be connected or keen to be connected to others working on girls well being issues
  • Be confident and flexible
  • Have experience in social media
