Plan International UK strives to advance children’s rights and equality for girls all over the world. Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children. We have been building powerful partnerships for children for 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.
The Policy and Programmes Directorate supports our aims by ensuring that we deliver the highest quality policy and programmes. We constantly enhance programme quality and effectiveness, raise income from institutional donors (like the British Government), and drive change through setting and influencing policy agendas.
This is an exciting time to join as we implement a range of ambitious plans designed to make us ‘the’ best among our peers. The bidding for, and delivery of, commercial contracts forms a key part of our strategy and we are recruiting a Bids Resourcing Executive to lead on pre-recruitment for all commercial bids.
Recruiting highly skilled project staff before a bid is submitted is amongst the most important tasks in the bid preparation process, and you will play an integral role in ensuring we submit high quality bids, especially to DFID and the EC. This will include proactive and persistent networking, maintenance of a database of technical experts and keeping active relationships with those recruited at critical stages.
You will have significant experience of recruitment, preferably in a bidding environment, and have some experience of working in, or recruiting for, international development. You will enjoy working with social media and be experienced at networking through channels like LinkedIn so as to seek out, identify and successfully recruit the best people to our projects.
The deadline for applications is 9:00am on Thursday 10 August 2017
Interviews will take place during week commencing 21 August 2017
Due to the nature of our work with children, we follow rigorous child protection policies and procedures in our recruitment process. As a result, some of our roles are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from joining us as an employee or volunteer; this will depend on the circumstances of any offences.
