Plan International UK strives to advance children’s rights and equality for girls all over the world. Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children. We have been building powerful partnerships for children for 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.
The Policy and Programmes Directorate supports our aims by ensuring that we deliver the highest quality policy and programmes. We constantly enhance programme quality and effectiveness, raise income from institutional donors (like the British Government), and drive change through setting and influencing policy agendas. Sitting within the Directorate, the Development Programmes Unit (DPU) supports Country Offices by helping them to design high quality programmes, and by raising the funds from institutional donors needed to implement them.
This is an exciting time to join us as a Programme Development Manager, as we implement a range of ambitious plans designed to make us ‘the’ best among our peers.
You will lead programme development processes for non-emergency institutional donor funding in Asia and West Africa, through overseeing a team of three to create high quality proposals in collaboration with Country Office teams. You will also play a key role in driving donor liaison and have hands on engagement with particular proposal development processes where required.
With a track record of successful development of high quality proposals and/or tenders for institutional donors, you will have experience of working remotely with multiple countries and partners to develop proposals within tight time frames. Experienced in leading and coaching teams, you will also be skilled at networking and partnership building and will have demonstrable field experience in Asia and/or West Africa.
Some overseas travel is envisaged for donor liaison and programme development (estimated at approximately 25% of working time).
The deadline for applications is 9:00am on Wednesday 9 August 2017
Interviews will take place during week commencing 21 August 2017
Due to the nature of our work with children, we follow rigorous child protection policies and procedures in our recruitment process. As a result, some of our roles are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from joining us as an employee or volunteer; this will depend on the circumstances of any offences.
