As the Programme Officer you will support the development of Plan UK’s disasters and emergencies portfolio as part of the Disaster Risk Management Unit. This will include development and management of a significant part of Plan UK’s disasters grants portfolio, and raising the profile and professionalism of Plan UK as a disasters actor.

The successful candidate will have experience of designing and implementing disaster / emergency projects, in line with institutional donors’ requirements and expectations. The candidate will also have experience of winning funding and overseeing projects from major humanitarian donors, as well as developing/ overseeing grant funded programmes across all phases of the programme cycle. Good analytical and problem solving skills, assessing information on humanitarian issues and working to tight deadlines is essential. A second language, in particular French and/or Spanish, is mandatory for this role.

The usual recruitment rate for this post (Grade 3) is £37,427 with future pay progression within the pay band from £37,427 to £39,346.

Our annual leave entitlement starts at 25 days (plus public holidays) for new starters. It goes up to 30 once you’ve been with us for 6 years.

We match contributions up to 7.5% on the pension scheme and will automatically enroll anyone who has not elected to join the scheme in the third pay period of their employment, currently at a rate of 1% contributions for you and for Plan.
