What you need to know
The post is Programme Manager - Disaster Risk Management Unit and you’ll be in the Programmes department.
As the Programme Manager, you will support the development of Plan UK’s disasters and emergencies portfolio as part of the Disaster Risk Management Unit. This will include development and management of a significant part of Plan UK’s disasters grants portfolio, and raising the profile and professionalism of Plan UK as a disasters actor.
It’s a permanent full-time post at 34.5 hours a week as we finish at 4.30pm on Fridays.
We are based in Old Street, London. (Finsgate, 5-7 Cranwood Street, London EC1V 9LH)
What we’re looking for
The successful candidate will have experience of designing and implementing disaster/ emergency projects, in line with institutional donors’ requirements and expectations. The candidate will also have experience of winning funding and overseeing projects from major humanitarian donors, managing project officers as well as developing/overseeing grant funded programmes across all phases of the programme cycle.
S/he will have good analytical and problem solving skills, assessing information on humanitarian issues and working to tight deadlines is essential.
The successful candidate will have a post-graduate degree in emergency/development studies and/or significant proven experience in the sector and preference will be given to those with a good proficiency of French and/or Spanish, is also highly desirable for this role.

The usual recruitment rate for this post (Grade 2) is £43,722 with future pay progression within the pay band from £43,722 to £45,965.
