Position Description
The post is Consortium Programme Manager and you’ll be in the Programme department.
Plan UK is seeking to build its programme management capacity and this job profile is a generic one with applicants being considered for specific roles that are anticipated in the coming months, conditional upon Plan UK securing key donor funding.
The Consortium Programme Manager provides overall coordination of a multi-million pound project funded by one of Plan UK’s institutional donors (e.g. DFID, EC). S/he will be responsible for coordination of activities across one or more target countries to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the programme and reporting to donor in line with the project contract.
You will work closely with consortium partners and represent the consortium at UK and international level to all relevant stakeholders, including the project steering committee.
Required Experience
The successful candidate will have experience of ….
• Effective management of large and complex projects, preferably across several countries.
• Preferably experience of coordinating a large consortium grant from a major institutional donor.
• Successfully managing complex relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including providing management and advice from a distance.
• Coordinating technical support and advice to programme staff.
• Generation and effective use of programme learning to improve practice and to support advocacy and communications.
• Working in developing countries, and willing to travel extensively (for up to 25% of time).
Salary and Benefits
The usual recruitment rate for this post (Grade 2) is £41,766 with future pay progression within the pay band from £41,766 to £45,064
Our annual leave entitlement starts at 25 days (plus public holidays) for new starters. It goes up to 30 once you’ve been with us for 6 years.
