Plan International UK is an independent development and humanitarian charity that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children. We have been building powerful partnerships for children for 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries. By 2022 we want to help 100 million girls learn, lead, decide and thrive.
The Policy and Programmes Directorate supports our aims by ensuring that we deliver the highest quality policy and programmes. We constantly enhance programme quality and effectiveness, raise income from institutional donors (like the British Government), and drive change through setting and influencing policy agendas.
This is an exciting time to join as we implement a range of ambitious plans designed to make us ‘the’ best among our peers. We are recruiting an Evidence, Learning and Impact Specialist to ensure quality of new proposals and to provide targeted support and technical oversight to programme delivery.
You will assist with establishing log frames, M&E work plans and targets during the drafting of donor project proposals and advise on effective and relevant M&E systems. You will also ensure that new programmes reflect current best practice in terms of agreed quality standards, and that they embed lessons drawn from evidence from current and past programmes.
You will have previously worked in a technical/advisory role providing oversight on project monitoring and evaluation, and have experience of developing and implementing M&E frameworks and systems. Able to form effective working relationships across the organisation and within the sector, you will drive continuous improvement and show commitment to achieving high quality outcomes.
The deadline for applications is 9:00am on Tuesday 10 October 2017
Interviews will take place on Monday 23 October 2017
Due to the nature of our work with children, we follow rigorous child protection policies and procedures in our recruitment process. As a result, some of our roles are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from joining us as an employee or volunteer; this will depend on the circumstances of any offences.
