The post is Grants Programme Officer (maternity cover) and you’ll be based within the Programmes department.
As Programme Officer you will be responsible for the successful implementation of a portfolio of overseas projects, in compliance with institutional donor standards and internal processes.
The post holder supports country programme staff to ensure consistent high quality project cycle management, and builds their capacity and skills development on effective grant management. To achieve this, s/he will work with relevant Plan UK (especially with Grants Finance and Quality Assurance, Impact and Learning team) and Plan International colleagues to ensure the effectiveness of project and grant management systems and quality processes. This position requires some overseas travel.
This is a full-time (34.5 hours per week), fixed term contract for one year.
We are based in Old Street, London (Finsgate, 5-7 Cranwood Street to be precise).
We are looking for a dynamic, motivated individual with a strong commitment to international development in general and affinity to child rights and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) programming. The ideal candidate will have experience of managing bilateral and multilateral development projects; and demonstrated experience of managing budgets and reporting. They will have excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, and be able to confidently act as an external representative of Plan. Experience of living and working in developing countries is essential in this role.
You will possess excellent verbal and written English and fluency in French is highly desirable.

The recruitment rate for this post (Grade 3) is £37,427 per annum with future pay progression within the pay band from £37,427 to £39,346.
Our annual leave entitlement starts at 25 days (plus public holidays) for new starters and increases to 30 days when you’ve been with us for six years.
We match contributions up to 7.5% on the pension scheme and will automatically enrol anyone who has not elected to join the scheme in the third pay period of their employment, currently at a rate of 1% contributions for you and for Plan.
