We are looking for a Monitoring and Evaluation Learning (MEL) Officer for our DFID-funded Girls’ Education Challenge (GEC) Programme in Sierra Leone. This post sits within the Development Programmes Unit (DPU) in the Policy and Programmes Directorate.
In this role, you will work closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist, Programme Manager and M&E team based in Sierra Leone to provide M&E support to the Plan International in-country team in the successful monitoring and evaluation of the project. You will assist community organisations, implementing partners and Plan programme staff to systematically measure project progress and to develop and maintain quality assurance procedures. You will use recommendations from previous and current GEC programmes to inform this project and document relevant learning to drive continuous improvement in GEC processes.
You will be able to demonstrate good understanding of how M&E processes and systems apply in the broader programme context and will have experience of working effectively in multinational teams to develop and monitor processes. You’ll have the ability to use M&E systems, databases and monitoring tools and will have strong quantitative and qualitative data processing and analysis skills. You will also be skilled in extracting data to produce meaningful reports and present these to diverse audiences.
The role is based in London and will involve working closely with the Sierra Leone-based M&E teams, with potential field visits (when travel is allowed). A Basic DBS check will be required.
This is a fixed term post that we anticipate will be required until July 2021.
