Plan International UK is a global children’s charity with over 80 years’ experience of working to deliver and protect girls’ rights across the world and to address gender inequality: we are the global experts on girls’ rights.
We are recruiting for an expert in safeguarding and protection to provide technical leadership and expertise and embed safeguarding and protection mainstreaming best practice within all aspects of our programming, both internationally and in the UK.
Areas of responsibility include:
• Programme development
• Project implementation
• Capacity Building of relevant staff on safeguarding and protection mainstreaming
• Risk Identification and Management
• Prevention, detection and response
• Positioning, external representation, networking and influencing
To fulfil the duties of this role, you will need in-depth knowledge of child safeguarding and the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse and protection issues. You’ll also have experience of safeguarding and protection mainstreaming at an organisational and strategic level, including policy development and demonstrable experience of strengthening programme quality and organisational profile. The ability to design and deliver effective and engaging training workshops for teams with different specialisms and levels of knowledge is essential, as well as good analytical skills, so that you are able to provide comprehensive reporting on Key Performance Indicators.
