Organization: Plan International UK
Country: United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
Closing date: 19 Jul 2019

Plan International UK is a global children’s charity. We work to give every child the same chance in life.

The Policy and Programmes Directorate supports our aims by ensuring that we deliver the highest quality policy and programmes. We constantly enhance programme quality and effectiveness, raise income from institutional donors (like the British Government), and drive change through setting and influencing policy agendas.

We are recruiting a Grants Finance Specialist to support with the management of the budgetary and financial aspects, including reporting, compliance and risk, of donor-funded grants and contracts.

This support will cover the entire award lifecycle, from proposal/bid stage, through to contracting, delivery, reporting, audit and close-out, in order to ensure that each stage is carried out to as high a standard as possible. This will include assisting with the development of programme proposal budgets, budget modifications and contract revisions, reviewing and consolidating donor financial reports, supporting the completion of due diligence assessments, and helping build the capacity of Plan International colleagues to ensure compliance with donor regulations and broader requirements. You will also support a complex multi-million pound institutional donor funded education programme in West Africa.

The role may include travel for up to 15-20 days per year to Country Offices to support projects.

You will have significant experience in a finance related role and ideally have previously worked in an INGO environment. You will need to have an interest in the sector and the agility to promptly pick up on donor specific rules, regulations and requirements related to budgeting, financial management, compliance and reporting. You will either hold, or be working towards, a CCAB recognised qualification or be qualified through experience.

The deadline for applications is 9:00am on Friday 19 July 2019

Interviews will take place on Wednesday 31 July 2019

Due to the nature of our work with children, we follow rigorous child protection policies and procedures in our recruitment process. As a result, some of our roles are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from joining us as an employee or volunteer; this will depend on the circumstances of any offences.
