We are a leader in the development of the global disasters work. Our Disaster Risk Management Unit (DRMU) supports our country offices to design and deliver quality programmes, assisting with the development of strong donor relationships, and providing technical support for humanitarian work. As maternity cover for the Head of Disaster Risk Management you will:
- Lead the Disaster Risk Management unit (DRMU) towards becoming a recognised centre of excellence within the Plan International network whilst building our reputation as an effective humanitarian response partner within the UK sector.
- Manage a high performing team of programme management staff, deployable staff and technical staff in our areas of expertise: gender, child protection, education, accountability, cash and innovation.
- Drive and guide the unit towards ambitious growth and enhanced programme quality
- Provide leadership to the wider organisation on effectively supporting a strengthened Humanitarian and Resilience agenda.
To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate significant field experience in a management capacity within humanitarian response settings and have worked at a senior level in an international organisation, preferably a UN agency. You will have experience within the UK and international donor funding environments and be able to successfully negotiate partnerships and programmatic, financial and contractual arrangements, especially in a humanitarian context.
